DESCRIPTION:The following program has been scheduled for Wednesday\, October 24\, 2018 @ 2:15 pm (check here to confirm schedule): \nLiam Girdwood\, software architect working on Sound Open Firmware (SOF)\, will share his story on how working on a skunk works project for Minnowboard turned into a multi product and multi vendor opensource project. He will also share technical features that can give users the edge over traditional audio. You will leave away with lessons learned from bringing traditionally closed firmware and hardware into the opensource world and how this could be applied to help create open source firmware for other subsystems. You will also leave with an understanding of the SOF SDK.

DESCRIPTION:Open Source Firmware Conference brings together like-minded individuals who are interested in taking open source firmware development to the next level. \nThe following program has been scheduled for Wednesday\, September 12\, 2018 @ 11:15am (check here to confirm schedule): \nJourney from Closed to Open: Lessons Learned from Open Sourcing Sound Open Firmware \nLearn how we took a historically closed source firmware with a proprietary SDK and created an open source firmware with an open source SDK. We will share the technical and non-technical challenges that had to be overcome in releasing open source audio firmware and creating a free SDK. We will end the session with  information about the Sound Open Firmware architecture\, tooling and how you can get involved.
